Link to Church

As a Church of England School we have close links with St. Augustine’s Church, Scaynes Hill and the Diocese of Chichester.  St. Augustine’s Church is situated on Church Road, Scaynes Hill and further information can be obtained from their website at https://sash.org.uk/

The Church on behalf of the Diocese nominates 2 people for our Governing Body, which usually includes the current vicar.

Services for the whole school are held throughout the year for, and not including, Harvest, Christmas and End of the School Year.

The Church run the Anchor Coffee Shop once a week and all year groups have the opportunity during their time at the school to pay a visit.

A team from St. Augustine’s Church along with a team from Lindfield United Reform Church, based locally, come into the school once a week as part of Open The Book worship. They perform stories from the Bible, often using willing volunteers from different age groups within school.

During their time at the school, the children are presented with several books from the Church. These include a Scripture Union booklet for children about to start with us, an Illustrated Bible at the end of their Reception year, a Good News Bible at the finish of Year 2 and a Scripture Union booklet at the end of Year 6.
