I am proud to introduce St Augustine’s Church of England School to you.

The staff work hard to create a learning environment in which every child is nurtured and valued. A creative and personalised approach to learning, and careful tracking of progress helps every child to achieve to their best ability. The school was recently awarded the Values-Based Education (VbE) Quality Mark, the first school in West Sussex to achieve this. VbE has built on the school’s mission statement and further developed positive values in the school community.

The children benefit from a range of sports and cultural events organised through the North Eastern Area Network of Rural Schools.  School trips are also an integral and valued way that the children experience the wider world and enliven the curriculum.

The school is in the village of Scaynes Hill, just a few miles from Haywards Heath and set in a quite location close to ancient woodlands and open countryside. We have pleasant school buildings and grounds. The library and outside area have been improved in recent years in consultation with the children. Their participation in decisions such as these is one of the things that makes this school distinctive.

The success of St Augustine’s is built upon partnerships between the school, parents, local church and wider community. Together we are seeking to build a school where children can flourish and achieve to their full potential.

With best wishes
